It is ten years since Regent’s Park Music Festival began with one concert at the park’s bandstand by the boating lake. Last year there were forty-six professional bands playing throughout the summer and more than 26,000 people enjoyed the music – mostly swing, jazz and brass bands – whilst sitting on the grass or lounging in deckchairs to hire.
The bandstand concerts are on Saturdays and Sundays from 21 June – 20 September.
Regent’s Park Music Festival is a charity run by volunteers and supported by financial donations from local businesses and individuals. The charity is committed to promoting young professional musicians, many of whom are recent graduates of the nearby Royal Academy of Music.
Music in the Secret Garden
On the evening of Friday 10 July there’ll be a concert from rising stars of the Royal Academy musical theatre company in the atmospheric walled garden of the park’s St John’s Lodge.
Opera Uncovered, a summer journey with Pegasus, takes place in the secret garden on Saturday 11 July, and on Sunday 12 July the Magical Musical Evening classical concert will include festival patron Sir Karl Jenkins CBE conducting his well-loved composition Palladio.
For children, there is an introduction to opera on the afternoon of 11 July, and on the Sunday afternoon, an enchanting musical event in which children follow the Pied Piper around the secret garden.

The Regent’s Park Music Festival relies on volunteers for both the bandstand and secret garden series, and is grateful for all donations and sponsorship.
